• In contrast, the geotectonic setting of the Indigirka-Zyryanka basin is associated with the collision forming the Verkhoyansk-Chersky fold belt. It is located between the Precambrian Siberian platform in the west and the Jurassic Kolyma-Omolon microcontinent in the east (Parfenov, 1991; Prokopiev, 1998). The tectonic deformation starts in Early Cretaceous time in the central zone (Chersky Range) and propagates in both directions towards west and towards east where it continues in the Indigirka-Zyryanka basin until Pliocene time.

Size classes: macrofossils, mesofossils
